What a great time we had! We knew it was going to be fun; but it was just like a semester of institute classes right on the site. We learned so much from Kay Godfrey and Rod Meldrum. The weather was beautiful.

Mark: Thanks to your and everyone who put this trip together in September. We had a great time. We brought home over 400 pictures that we took and it took me a week to put captions on them so as not to forget. We selected 175 of them to show our family for Family Home Evening and will be showing them again to more of our family. Kay was so kind as to send me some of his material and along with Rod's, we have a lot to remember. I would do it again in a heartbeat and probably will. I have told several members of our family about it, and they all say that is something they would like to do themselves. I think for me, it brought to me that Joseph Smith was a real person who lived and gave his life for us. Always it seemed like he lived so long ago and far away, but now it is something I have experienced. As to the Lamanites, we have always known they are a special people and what we see today is not what they were back then. That someday soon they will rise up and take their proper place in America. God Bless you for your great work. Cliff Brower

I was impressed about the fact that lunar calendars have been found in North America and the Jews also used lunar calendars. While in South America only Solar ones have been found. Also, that Holy Stone was quite impressive. It's just exciting to know of these things. Also, if you more want positive remarks all the hotel were very nice. Kay's knowledge and understanding of Joseph Smith is astounding. He not only relates facts, he makes us feel what was happening. Walking the Trail of Hope and standing at the bank of the Mississippi made me have a greater understanding of Joseph Smith's sacrifice and also those of the other saints who were forced to leave. It took such faith and courage. I feel so frail in comparison.

Carol and I had a great time on our recent church history tour. We enjoyed Kay and Rod and their insight as they taught us about the important work that took place for the restoration of the gospel. Their expertise and knowledge of the historic sites was marvelous. We all came away with stronger convictions and testimonies of the Prophet Joseph Smith and all those who stood by him. To walk in the footsteps of our ancestors gave us a better understanding of their sacrifices so we can enjoy the blessings of the restored gospel. We felt the spirit as we have never felt it before as we stood in sacred places and walked on sacred ground. I still feel the emotions as I look at the pictures and recall the experience of being there. We took over 800 pictures which have been overwhelming to sort and edit. I have selected about 300 of our favorites that will be placed in an album along with a written narrative for each. we are anxiously awaiting to view the DVD that you are providing to us. I have been ask to share our experience with a family home evening group of "empty nesters". Thanks again, Mark, to you and your staff for this special experience. We will never forget it." Please accept our thanks for an outstanding Church History Tour and visit to the Hopewell Mounds! We were pleased with everything we saw and heard. Mark Clifford did an excellent job as a tour director-everything was well planned and carried out. The hotels, eating accommodations, and guided tours made for an especially pleasant and educational experience. Rod Meldrum and Kay Godfrey were exceptional guides. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend traveling with Legacy Tours and Travel. Thanks again, Golden and Donna Linford Rexburg, Idaho

I want to let you know I had a great time spiritually, and educational. Certainly brings me closer to my ancestors and to know their hardships and commitment to the Lord. Keep me advised of future trips that can build me spiritually and increase my faith. to walk in the paths of the Prophet was very meaningful and faith promoting. I realize the faith that my grandfather several times removed, Caleb Baldwin suffered alongside the Prophet and endured all of the hardships and was faithful to the end. Thanks again, Sam

Hello there Mark and All, I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you so much for the amazing and wonderful trip we just finished. Mark, I really want to thank you for your kindness in dragging (helping) me everywhere. My right knee is still bruised even after 2 weeks, but I'm resting now and it will improve soon I know. I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to experience all the wonderful things we both saw and heard without your help. You are amazing!! Hugs, Claudia

I have been on a lot of wonderful tours, but this beats any experience. It was an absolute banquet of delights. I was fed spiritually, physically, socially, intellectually, and emotionally. I have come away from this experience changed and enlivened. Thanks for the "food." Have a great day, Patty Wilcox

The combination of the people on the tour, the bus driver, the guides, discussions and the Spirit of the Holy Ghost made the tour far superior than visiting the sights on my own. I will miss being surrounded by such outstanding circumstances on a daily basis. Carolyn Johnston.

From the first day to the last day of this tour my mind was like a sponge soaking up a large amount of church history and Book of Mormon information. We loved seeing where the Book of Mormon was first published and the sacrifices that Joseph Smith and others made. We enjoyed the information at the mounds and how history intersects with the Book of Mormon. The artifacts and the different kind of mounds; burial, ceremonial and fortification where very interesting. We where surprised of the advanced culture with the use of steel, copper, flint etc. The people on the tour were wonderful and for sure we have made some long term friends. We really enjoyed everything about it. Don and Peggy Buchanan

We loved the variety this tour offers ? the church history, ancient history and ties to the Book of Mormon, museums, walks/hikes, sociality of others, sharing about ourselves on the bus. The food the Amish, sacrament, temple, our good missionaries, the guests that Rod arranged for us to see ? even the jokes and the music, the shopping, Hannibal, etc. For the most part there was a great balance between the spiritual and the educational ? there was a time in the middle that I felt we were getting more educational (which was all good an interesting!) but in the end it balanced out all wonderful! We want to thank everyone who made this tour so wonderful for us ? Lynn and Betty, Mark, Rod Meldrum , Dennis and Kathy Gibbons, Hartman and Connie Rector, and Bob our sweet driver. This has been a lifetime experience for us. We would so highly recommend this tour to anyone. Al and Celia Huish
