LYNN LEASURE
Lynn is the President and C.E.O. of Leasure and Associates. For the past 28 years, he has established and operated tourism related businesses around the world, including hunting and fishing lodges in Alaska; a flyout trout fishing lodge and resort in Southern Chile; two yacht chartering operations and marinas in Tonga and Tahiti in the South Pacific; a wholesale tour company in Hawaii, with branches in Samoa, Tonga and Fiji; and a retail travel agency in Utah.
In 1987, Lynn designed and wrote a master plan for a $500 million multipurpose destination resort to be built in the Southwestern part of the United States. His work on this project subsequently led to the creation of the consulting company of Leasure and Associates. In 1997, Lynn was a featured speaker and presenter at the South Dakota Governor's Conference on Tourism and the Idaho Governor's Conference on Tourism. He was also invited to address the annual conference of the Alliance of Tribal Tourism Advocates (ATTA).
Leasure and Associates has completed a recreational evaluation plan for the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe in South Dakota, and is presently in charge of implementing that plan. In association therewith, the firm was selected to generate a corridor management plan for its concept of a Native American Scenic Byway which crosses the Lower Brule Reservation. The firm has also developed the conceptual design for a major themed living history project in the Black Hills of South Dakota and is now implementing the project. Under Lynn's direction, the firm has also provided conceptual designs for the theme and living history exhibits for the National Oregon/California Trail Center at Clover Creek in Montpelier, Idaho. It has also created the conceptual design for a major attraction in Southeast Alaska and a destination resort in Utah.
Leasure and Associates has also designed an attraction called "the Nations of the Native West" which showcases the Great Basin and Plains Indian Tribes. Another project, "the Pageant of the Plains," is an original concept for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe which illustrates in pageant form the conflict between Sitting Bull and General Custer.
